HOTEL

• NOTE: THE EKA HOTEL'S BOOKING PAGE CONTAINS ERRORS. The hotel has been made aware & will correct them. Please be mindful to verify the details of your booking & contact the hotel directly for issues or if you don't receive a Confirmation Letter (within 1-2 business days). Please double-check that the room rate is correct and ALL names are noted on the letter.

• Click the hotel booking button above to make your reservation. Credit cards are not required at the time of booking. A link for payment will be sent at a later date.

• Please have your roommate confirmed BEFORE booking. Be sure to verify that both names are on the Welcome Letter and/or invoice from the hotel as each person will need a copy for their visa.

• Hotel reservations should be made according to your flight arrival and departure dates. If you are traveling outside of the normal travel schedule, book your hotel according to your flight plans. For those traveling during the regular travel dates (Feb. 5-12), book your hotel for Feb. 6-12, 2024. Depending on your country of origin, if your flight departs for Kenya (NBO) on Monday (Feb 5th) you will arrive on Tuesday  (Feb. 6th). Additionally, Feb. 11th is a Sunday, but we recommend including Monday (Feb. 12th) in your reservation due to most flights departing Kenya in the evening.

FLIGHTS

• A bus to the hotel will be provided for travelers arriving in Kenya (NBO) on Feb. 6th at approx. 9 pm. All travelers arriving outside of this time will need to contact the hotel to arrange an Airport transfer (for a fee - $25 USD for 1-2 people, one way). 

• Upload your vaccination info into the UN's vaccination verification portal. This is required to be completed BEFORE boarding your flight to Kenya. The link to Global Haven & additional vaccination is below.

VISAs

• You cannot apply for a visa without airfare and hotel reservations. The recommended time to apply for a visa is January 2024. You can apply for your visa with the button above. 

• Select the TOURIST Visa. Do not be confused by the conference/convention option - that is intended for business travelers. We also recommend that you select the single-entry option.

• Using your cell phone, take a photo of yourself against a white wall. If you wear glasses, remove them for the photo. The eVisa process will require you to submit a "passport-like" photo, which is NOT the photo from your passport. 

In preparation to travel to Kenya, all travelers need to have:

• the app "WhatsApp" downloaded to your phone. 

  • WhatsApp is our primary form of communication with travelers while out of the country. We also share updates to help you prepare in our WhatsApp group. Click here to join the Missions WhatsApp group.​

• a valid passport (check your expiration date)

• travel-size insect repellant (recommended)

• medications for Traveler's Diarrhea (recommended as a precaution, but consult your healthcare provider)

• upload vaccination info into the UN's vaccination validation portal - Global Haven (click here)

  • It is required that your vaccination records be entered into Global Haven before boarding your flight to Kenya. Paper records will not be viewed at the airport.

  • Please contact your doctor and/or local public health department to determine your vaccination needs.

    • Tip: Check with your Public Health Department for free/affordable vaccinations. Some CVS locations have a Travel Health Clinic, which may be an affordable option. ​

  • To date, there are no required vaccines; however, this could change. So please monitor the CDC site for updates & speak with your healthcare provider, if/when requirements change.​

  • Although not required, we strongly recommend bringing your COVID vaccine card & Yellow Fever/Certification of Vaccination Card - sometimes referred to as a Yellow Book (if you have one).
